Hi, I’m Tamara!

I’m the owner of MomRN Birth Services and a certified Birth Boot Camp Doula and Childbirth Instructor serving pregnant clients in the Greater Oklahoma City Metro. I can’t wait to support you, your partner, and baby in creating the birth and postpartum experience of your dreams!

MomRN Birth Services was born out of my love for supporting parents and parents-to-be along with my “awe” of the miracle of birth. 💗

Mom + RN = MomRN

My career started as a registered nurse, fresh out of college and newly married. Then I became a mom, which is the BEST (and hardest!) job EVER, and life became a crazy adventure! Since 2001, I’ve been a nurse entrepreneur, talk show host, podcaster and speaker; better known to some as my alter ego, MomRN.

As MomRN, I have provided practical information, advice, and support for raising happy, healthy families to parents all over the world. I’ve shared my expertise online and on television, radio, print media, and via speaking engagements. As host of the Ask MomRN Show for over 12 years, I also had the honor of interviewing thousands of experts and celebrities and interacting with listeners around the globe. It’s been an unbelievably incredible, wild ride and I’m SO VERY GRATEFUL for it!

In addition to being a wife, mom, grandma, former registered nurse, and a birth worker, I’m also a follower of Christ, who believes in loving and serving ALL people. Whether you are a mom-to-be, a “seahorse dad”, or other birthing person, I’d love the opportunity to serve you and your partner. However you identify yourself and your family, it’s my goal to help YOU experience the birth of YOUR dreams!

Birth Pro

Becoming a birth professional felt like a natural extension of the knowledge and skills acquired from my nursing career, my life as a mom, and twenty-plus years as a parenting and health educator.

Birth work has always been an interest of mine! Although I mainly worked in pediatrics and PICU, I always loved any time I had the opportunity to assist in labor and delivery. I did my senior nursing research project at a freestanding midwifery birthing center and later used that same center and their midwives for the births of my two children. I know how giving birth impacts you; how the experience changes you and stays with you for the rest of your life. (I also have firsthand emergency childbirth experience from giving birth to my second baby in a car on the side of I-35. Thankfully, all turned out very well and we have a fun story to tell of his big entrance into the world!)

Even before becoming a certified birth doula, I have had the privilege of providing labor support for several family members and friends for many births over the past 30 years.

My passion for supporting birthing people led me to become certified as a doula and childbirth educator so I can help more parents create the birth experiences they desire for themselves and their babies. After extensive research, I chose to certify through Birth Boot Camp because of the up to date, evidence-based comprehensive training they provide. I want you to have the nurturing doula care and comprehensive childbirth education that will set you up for success in creating your dream birth experience.

The experience you, your partner, and your baby have during the birthing process should be an amazing and wonderful adventure of a lifetime! I would be honored to help you in that journey!

“Approach birth as an opportunity to have an adventure on the way to meeting your baby, rather than an ordeal to be endured.”

— Anna Wilde
